Tremenheere Sculpture Gardens

With a deep-rooted passion for both art and horticulture, Vicky Gould Cucknell brings a unique creative vision to garden design. As Co-Founder of Coastal Art and Gardens, Vicky seamlessly blends artistic expression with ecological sensitivity, creating spaces that are as inspiring as they are sustainable.

Vicky continues to nurture this passion through her long-standing volunteer work at Tremenheere Sculpture Gardens, where she regularly collaborates with the team on new planting schemes. Working closely with garden owner Neil Armstrong and Head Gardener Alex Goodyear, she contributes to the evolving design of the gardens—crafting new beds and enhancing existing landscapes as opportunities arise.

In Autumn/Winter 2024, Vicky joined forces with fellow designer Helen Kneel to create ‘The Little Cape Garden’—a striking new installation at Tremenheere. This garden draws inspiration from South Africa’s resilient flora, showcasing drought-tolerant planting that thrives in the exposed Cornish environment. It’s a bold and beautiful celebration of climate-adapted gardening and a testament to Vicky’s innovative design approach.

Whether designing a small coastal courtyard or a larger sculptural landscape, Vicky’s work is defined by sensitivity to place, love for natural form, and a deep respect for the environment.
